Incentives

Enterprise Zones

The Ohio Enterprise Zone Program is an economic development tool administered by municipal and county governments that provides real and personal property tax exemptions to businesses making investments in Ohio.

Community Reinvestment Area (CRA)

The Ohio Community Reinvestment Area program is an economic development tool administered by municipal and county government that provides real property tax exemptions for property owners who renovate existing or construct new buildings. Community Reinvestment Areas are areas of land in which property owners can receive tax incentives for investing in real property improvements.

Ohio Job Creation Tax Credit

The Job Creation Tax Credit is a refundable and performance based tax credit calculated as a percent of created payroll and applied toward the company’s commercial activity tax liability. Should the amount of the credit exceed the company’s commercial activity tax liability for any given year, the difference is refunded. Applicants must be approved through the Ohio Tax Credit Authority before hiring begins. 

Financing

SBA 504

The SBA 504 Loan provides provides a long-term, fixed rate financing of up to $5 million for major fixed assets that promote business growth and job creation. 

166 Direct Loan

The 166 Direct Loan provides loans for land and building acquisition, construction, expansion, or renovation, and equipment purchases for eligible businesses. The program provides low-interest loans up to 40 percent not to exceed $1.5 million.

166 Regional Loan

The 166 Regional Loan provides a State-funded loan pool that can finance up to 40% of the total cost of a business capital investment project at fixed, below market interest rates with a lower down payment.
