The Davey Tree Expert Company Grows in Kent
Largest Ohio employee-owned company continues to thrive
CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 19, 2020 – The Davey Tree Expert Company, a fast-growing company that provides tree, utility, lawn care and environmental consulting services throughout the U.S. and Canada, plans to grow its headquarters in Kent, Ohio, adding 70 new jobs. The company also will add a 38,000-square-foot addition to its corporate campus located at 1500 N Mantua Street in Kent.
Davey decision-makers cited the quality workforce of Northeast Ohio as a primary reason for their decision to expand in Kent. Northeast Ohio boasts more than 141,000 workers in the $24 billion professional services/headquarters sector.

An economic development team including the city of Kent, Portage Development Board, JobsOhio and Team NEO has been working with Davey Tree, the largest Ohio employee-owned company, to ensure its successful expansion in Kent, where its headquarters has been located since 1880. The city of Kent also provided incentives and JobsOhio provided a grant to support the expansion in Kent instead of a location outside Ohio.
