Program Designed to Expand Knowledge of Manufacturing, Improve Public Perception of Manufacturing Career Opportunities
(Ravenna, Ohio) August 6, 2018 – In celebration of Manufacturing Month, the Portage Development Board, OhioMeansJobs Portage County, and The NEW Center will host a manufacturing expo and career fair as part of an effort to change perceptions about today’s manufacturing environment and draw attention to the outstanding opportunities that a career in manufacturing can provide. Produced in Portage activities include product demonstrations, networking, job postings and on-site interviews.
“There is a noticeable increase in demand for highly skilled professionals in the manufacturing sector who can design, program and operate technology,” said Brad Ehrhart, President of Portage Development Board. “Whether people are interested in design, engineering, or even the business side of the industry, there is a place for everyone in manufacturing. Not only does it offer a wide variety of demanding and fulfilling roles, it also offers high pay and opportunity for career advancement.”
Produced in Portage will be held on October 10th and will feature two community sessions that are open to the public. Session I is from 1pm-3pm and Session II is from 5pm-7pm. The event will be held at The NEW Center at NEOMED.
