Portage County Port Authority

Resources for Economic Development
The Portage County Port Authority (PCPA) was created by the Portage County Board of Commissioners to provide an addtional economic development tool for Portage County.  The area of Jurisdiction of the Port Authority includes all of Portage County, with the exception of those townships which currently have a Port Authority.  See the Ohio Port Authorities page for information about port authorities role in Ohio.


Leadership
The Port Authority is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors, which are appointed by the Portage County Board of Commissioners.  The Port Authority Board members are appointed from a variety of professions and disciplines, which includes education, labor, printing  and publishing, financial, insurance and real estate.  See the About the PCPA page for board members and meeting dates.


New Financing Tool for Economic Development
The Portage County Port Authority has an agreement with the Summit County Port Authority to provide financing for projects within Portage County.


First Project - Cascades of Brimfield
The first project to receive financing through this agreement is the Cascades mixed use development located at Tallmadge Road and I-76 in Brimfield Township.  The infrastructure necessary for the project, water, sewer, road work and signals were financed through a tax exempt bond issued by the Summit County Port Authority.
